Terms & Conditions

By entering, or being entered into, a Mile4 Hybrid Race event, and by ticking the acceptance box at checkout or when completing your details, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not enter or participate.

• 2.1 Participants must be 18 years of age or older on race day. There are no exceptions.
• 2.2 Participants must be in good physical health and capable of completing the race format.
• 2.3 Entries may be age-verified at registration. Please bring identification on race day. Mile4 may refuse entry, without refund, to anyone who cannot verify their age or who supplied false details.
• 2.4 Mile4 reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant at any time for safety or conduct reasons.

• 3.1 A team entry is bought by one person (the "captain"), who pays for the whole team and enters the name and email address of each teammate.
• 3.2 The captain confirms they have each teammate's permission to share their name and email address with Mile4 for this purpose.
• 3.3 Each teammate receives an email and must complete their own details and accept the participant waiver personally. A captain cannot accept the waiver on a teammate's behalf. A teammate's ticket is only issued once they have done so.
• 3.4 Divisions have composition rules (for example, mixed doubles is one man and one woman). An entry that does not meet the rules of its division may be moved to the correct division or refused.
• 3.5 Teammates start in the same wave. Wave times are allocated by Mile4 and may change before race day.
• 3.6 The entry price shown is per team. Capacity limits count teams.

• 4.1 Participation is at your own risk. You confirm that you are medically fit to participate.
• 4.2 Mile4 strongly recommends that all participants obtain medical clearance from a qualified physician prior to participation.

• 5.1 Every participant accepts the Participant Waiver individually. The version accepted, and the date and time of acceptance, are recorded.
• 5.2 The waiver applies to the fullest extent permitted by South African law and does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for gross negligence.

• 6.1 You may correct your own name at any time from your account or your team page. The email address linked to an entry cannot be changed by the participant.
• 6.2 Until a teammate has completed their details, the captain may replace them with another person from the team page. The new teammate receives their own invitation; the previous link stops working.
• 6.3 Transfers of a confirmed entry to another person are possible until the transfer cut-off published for each event, subject to identity confirmation by email. Mile4 may charge an administration fee for transfers; any fee is shown before you confirm.

• 7.1 Your spot is held for up to 30 minutes while you complete payment. Unpaid entries are released automatically.
• 7.2 Where the Consumer Protection Act gives you a right to cancel a booking, you may do so by emailing info@mile4race.com within the period the Act allows. Mile4 may retain a reasonable cancellation charge where the Act permits.
• 7.3 Outside of those rights, entry fees are not refundable, but entries may be transferred (section 6).
• 7.4 If Mile4 cancels an event, you will be offered a refund or a credit for a future event. If an event is cancelled for reasons beyond Mile4's control (force majeure), a credit or partial refund may be offered at Mile4's discretion.
• 7.5 A cancelled or refunded ticket is invalidated; its QR code will not be accepted at check-in.

• 8.1 Mile4 may photograph or film the event, including participants, for event coverage and results.
• 8.2 Use of identifiable images of you in advertising requires your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time by emailing info@mile4race.com.

Results (name, team name, division, age group and times) are published on the Mile4 results pages and may be shared with timing and media partners. For team divisions one time is recorded per team.

• 10.1 Participants must behave in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times.
• 10.2 Cheating, aggression or misconduct may result in immediate disqualification and removal from the event.

• 11.1 Mile4 processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), as described in our Privacy Policy.
• 11.2 Marketing messages are only sent if you opt in separately. You can opt out at any time from your account or any email.
• 11.3 You may access, correct or request deletion of your personal information by contacting info@mile4race.com.

• 12.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
• 12.2 Mile4 may update these Terms. The version you accepted is recorded against your entry; material changes will be communicated by email.
